As thunder crawls under my skin
As lightning sparks upon my nerves
As the rain falls from my eyes
I see you, and
I forget myself
Your delicate edges
Your delightful hue
Your daring disposition
I see you, and
I want myself
I desire to be a softness upon which the world can sit,
and calm its chaos, as you do mine
I wish to be a rainbow upon which the world can smile,
and regain hope, as you do for me
I dream to be brave, upon which the world can stand,
and find courage, as you find in me
I see you, and
I forget myself
I want myself
I am myself
Poem written by Sam Osbiston, unedited and inspired by the photograph I took in My Wild Garden, and how even though I am raging inside, the garden soothes and reminds me who and what I am and capable of.
